This policy covers Ball Knowledge and the games on this site, including 7-0-0 and Lineup (together, "the site", "we", "us"). It explains what data is collected when you visit, and the choices you have.
The site has no sign-up, no login and no user accounts. We don't ask for your name, email address or any other personal information to play. Your in-progress game state (formation, picks, settings) is stored only in your browser's local storage and never sent to us.
On your first visit you'll see a banner asking you to choose Accept all or
Essential only. That choice is itself stored in your browser's local storage
(key bk_consent) so we can remember it — this is the only "essential" storage the site
uses. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the
footer of any page.
If you accept all cookies, we use PostHog to understand which features and pages are used, so we can improve the games. This is aggregate usage data (e.g. which game was opened, which formation was picked, whether a game was completed) — not anything that identifies you personally.
If you accept all cookies, the site may show ads served by Google AdSense in the ad slots marked "Advertisement". Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google's Ads Settings, and learn more about how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. If you choose "Essential only", no ad or analytics cookies are set and no ads are personalized.
Player names, squads and ratings used in-game are drawn from public football datasets, including the Fjelstul World Cup Database (CC-BY-SA 4.0). These are historical sporting records, not personal data about you.
The site is general-audience football trivia content and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
